Ryan and Hayley meet at Uni through the SCUBA diving club and start dating March 2008. Their first date is a bit 'unconventional' as it's a back-to-school themed engineering party.

Things go really well over the next few years - they go on their first overseas trip together and discover they still enjoy each other's company even when it's 24/7. They decide to move in together November 2010.
Rimu joins the family January 2012. Hayley had wanted a cat since she was 6 years old so was completely smitten with Rimu from day one.
Ryan pops the question and Hayley says yes April 2016 (on the same day Ryan submits the examination copy of his PhD thesis and Hayley submits the final version of her PhD - big day!). This is followed by a few magical days on Waiheke as an engagement-moon.
They embark on their big overseas adventure together and move to the UK May 2016. They quickly get settled into life in Birmingham while making sure to explore as much of the UK and Europe as possible.
They graduate together with their PhDs May 2017. It's a great celebration of countless years of studying and the transition into the 'real-world' (or for Ryan at least, Hayley technically still hasn't left uni...).
Ryan and Hayley fiiiiiiinally tie the knot March 2018 after 10 years!! They're excited to start the next phase together.
